JAMES M. MURPHY |

Jim joined Bletzer & Bletzer in 2003 and is an active criminal defense attorney and civil litigator at the firm. He believes that the key to success in any case is a solid working relationship with the client. To that end, he values the input of his clients regarding every aspect of the case at hand. Armed with significant courtroom experience, Jim strives to achieve the client's goals in the shortest period of time.
Prior to becoming associated with Bletzer & Bletzer, P.C., Jim was a Massachusetts Superior Court law clerk and an Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County in Massachusetts. As a law clerk, he researched and drafted decisions, legal memoranda and proposed jury instructions in civil and criminal cases. He worked extensively with the Justices on summary judgment motions, motions to dismiss, motions to suppress and jury instructions.
As an Assistant District Attorney, Jim tried numerous cases in the district and superior courts of Massachusetts. He also prosecuted numerous motions to suppress and motions to dismiss, which included the research and writing of briefs. In the superior court, Jim wrote appellate briefs and indicted cases in the Grand Jury. While in the DA's office, he was a member of the Grove Hall Safe Neighborhood Initiative, the Unsolved Shooting Project and the Homicide Response Team.
Jim appears on radio as a legal analyst for "The Diehards" on 1510 AM. He is currently serving as an elected member of the Boston College Law School Alumni Association and is a member of the Holy Cross Lawyers Association.
Admissions: Jim is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in state and federal court.
